Leave your footprint

Hidden opportunity costs…

This is a good one for me as it is so true of me up to this point in my life. I’ve been afraid of making an impression. Afraid of messing up. Afraid of looking stupid.

And don’t get me wrong, that’s gotten me far in life because it means instead of speaking out I observe and listen to others.

So many people ask a question when the answer was going to be the next thing said.

So many people interject with their own personal stories or advice, when the person talking just wants to get their own words and story out.

Sometimes. Often in fact. It’s good to be the person who just listens. Who figures it out on her own.

But that can only get you so far.

What do you have to lose if you say something wrong or stupid? Usually not much. A bit of embarrassment perhaps.

You are the only one who has experienced life through your eyes and mind. Don’t waste your insights by not sharing them with the world.

P.S. Writing this at all is my attempt at a footprint. Maybe just in the sand for a start… This is day 2 of my commitment to blog every day for a month — I’d love for you to follow me or show some ❤️ with a clap or two or …:)
