A Message to Plagiarists’

Those bitter ekphrasis, that need not the words — words that you so openly

display on the innocence you trail, just as the impious merchants of faith,

your eyes secret what your lips so nonchalantly gnaw on decadent hidden

anecdotes. If your words fear the humanity of your frame, you cannot face

backwards while you tralatitously burn tradition as a heretic — without

undue just cause. This clinical veneer you’ve plastered yourself with, that

dredges the loftiness that reaches the height of your ceiling — come down a

step, least my tongue lash you with the pity of my conflicted empathy,

You have set my memory on the path of picturesque migration,

when your sin was the cause of my empathies trials.

Now, to use my words sparingly, so as to not cause harm, you’ve become

minute dressed in the finery of grand illusions, and yet you peacocking-ly

display your illicit use of words, words you know not to punctuate with

exclamatory silence, you admire your betrayal and not the betrayed

The betrayed having the farthest reaching memory of all,

come full circle, the betrayed, also the most forgiving, deem you unworthy,

that their dress not brush against your stained cloth. Forgiveness has a

memory steeped in the books you carry and dyslexically read just to acquire

admiring glances. Excuse my ekphrasis, but even the sheep are aware of the

wolves hearsay. We err on the side of caution, yet you err in the side of

established divinity. Therefor to err is not human, it is solely divine, and to
